Our approach

After more than a decade of action, we continue to reduce the environmental impacts of our own operations – which extend to suppliers and consumers too.

Managing our environmental impact

Our Business Code ensures that our suppliers meet our expectations on environmental and social impacts.

We encourage consumers to be environmentally-aware when using our products, while also reformulating our products to reduce their environmental impact during use.

Our Environmental Sustainability Policy

Unilever East & Southern Africa is committed to be part of a sustainable future, in which economic growth combines with sound environmental management to meet the needs

and aspirations of people throughout the world.

Sustainable agricultural sourcing

Over two-thirds of our raw materials come from agriculture. Our Sustainable Agriculture Programme looks at how crops are grown and how to secure sustainable supplies in the long term.

Climate change

We have set a stretching goal to reduce further our greenhouse gas emissions, working closely with governments and partners on this challenge.

Water

Our brands rely on water at every stage of their lifecycle, from the production of raw materials to consumer use.

Eco-efficiency in manufacturing

We aim to minimise both resources used and waste created.

Occupational Health & Safety Policy

Unilever East & Southern Africa will continually improve the health, safety and well being of everyone working for the organization, to a standard which is comparable with the very best companies in the FMCG sector.

Our brands

From healthy food brands to sensuous soaps, our products all have one thing in common. They help you get more out of life.
